Netflix is great. For $8 a month, you can enjoy different movies and TV shows - both popular and unknown - unlimitedly. It's very accessible; the subscription allows you to access Netflix on most game consoles, computers, tablets, smartphones, etc. In addition to this, you're granted a free subscription month, which will allow you to try it out first before buying the service.
I have it myself and I use it frequently. I like it. However, the content on Netflix Canada is, compared to Netflix in America, lacking.
Comment below "Fuzzy Socks on my feet"
I checked netflixcanadavsusa.blogspot.com, which showed me that American Netflix has 8920 movies/shows, while the Canadian version only has 3027 movies/shows. These numbers don't account for multiple episodes per show.
Don't get me wrong! Netflix is still pretty good! When you think of 3027 movies/shows, it sounds like a lot. But when compared with the American version, you think of it as much less.
American Netflix has many hit movies and TV shows that the Canadian one doesn't have.. such as:
Alice in Wonderland
(I heard they're coming out with a sequel of this movie. Hopefully it turns out well!)
Adventure Time
I absolutely LOVE Adventure Time. (My favourite character is Lumpy Space Princess. What the lump?!?)
The fact that they don't have this show on Canadian Netflix is somewhat offensive.

The Office
I don't even have to say anything about this one. Why Netflix why? -cries to sleep- :'(
There, Netflix: another thing where our American counterparts get the longer end of the stick. The limited content is due to many reasons, one of which being licensing issues.
Licensing restrictions are dependent on the country. Showing US-based content in the country of Canada requires someone behind the scenes to buy the rights to the content. These purchases cost millions of dollars but broadcasters have the ability of accessing original programming.
There you have it. I guess we may have to be stuck with the Canadian Netflix. Again, Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the service; however, it can be improved vastly.
Enjoy this picture of a cute cat (It's almost kinda creepy haha!)
Have a nice day :) ~ !

ReplyDeleteHaha I didn't think it was a problem, rather I think this issue is more of an area for improvement. I like Netflix!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves Netflix and has it on her own computer. She said something about being able to share it somehow, but I haven't looked into it.
